This is our Ivy and her pups. What a good mama! The picture is from 2006. She also had a litter in 2007 which produced some wonderful puppies. Ivy has been retired since then and was spayed.
Today I took her to try out her new forever home. To say the very least - she was a hit. It's an older couple. Their kids, their grandkids and Kathy's mom were on hand to greet her. They asked if she could spend the night with them. They'll bring her back Monday morning as they can't be with her fulltime next week and don't want her to be alone on her first week (don't they sound great?)
Well, they are great! When I left, Ivy was sitting on the couch between Kathy and her daughter. I made a fast exit. She will be home tomorrow and more good news - - - I'll see her everytime she needs clipped.
So I drove home with a heavy heart, but Ivy will be queen of her castle. I forgot my camera today, but I'll have pictures next time.
It's proof of a good breeder who looks for the best of homes for all. What a hard, but loving act to assure an old gal finds a great home where she can be Queen. Never the less, it hurts to see them leave your home and they are forever missed. Been there, done that.
