Ivy's Happy Ending

Ivy has spent the last two weekends getting acquainted with her potential new family. When she returned last weekend from her second sleepover, I knew in my heart this was the best place for her to go. In the short time span of a weekend, she bonded with Kathy and Royce. Ivy is living the American dog's dream.
  • Her own home
  • A big fenced backyard
  • Acceptance and absolute love from her family

This weekend she jumped into their van with anticipation. Yes, there was a lump in my throat. Seeing her wiggle in between the two of them for her journey home made the bitter - sweet.

Willow is the Party Girl!

I always knew I was destined to be a star! Here I am cheering for Ohio State during the Rose Bowl. I'm always up for a party.
My silly brother, Cooper, thinks he's a cheerleader too - I'll let him sit next to me, but I'm leading all of the cheers. He's just a fan.

My next big party is by birthday party. Mommy told me to sit still and look pretty. Stay under there, Cooper. This is my day.

Ahhh - my very own cake.

I just can't sit here much longer. Notice my tongue is out - Anticipation . . .

A quick sniff -

and let the party begin. It is all about me! I am such a lucky girl. I love my mommy and daddy and have tons of friends. I'm such a good girl that I always share with my brother.

Our First Birthday

Wow - we're one year old today. We remember the night we were born very well. Tons of snow on the ground and below zero termperatures were outside, but we were inside with our mama snug and warm. It was the night after Captain Chelsey Sulley successfully landed the aircraft in New York. Rejoicing in New York and Pennsylvania.
Mama loved us so much she just couldn't leave us alone. We're trying to sleep, and she's giving us kisses. G-ma Lois had to carry Mama outside in the snow to get her to go potty.

We grew so quickly. Eight weeks flew by. This is our last picture together. It was time for us to move on with our own familes. Our original names of Pepsi and Cherry changed to Joker and Willow.

Here's our collage of special pictures. Let it be know that we are loved.

Bitter Sweet

This is our Ivy and her pups. What a good mama! The picture is from 2006. She also had a litter in 2007 which produced some wonderful puppies. Ivy has been retired since then and was spayed.

Today I took her to try out her new forever home. To say the very least - she was a hit. It's an older couple. Their kids, their grandkids and Kathy's mom were on hand to greet her. They asked if she could spend the night with them. They'll bring her back Monday morning as they can't be with her fulltime next week and don't want her to be alone on her first week (don't they sound great?)

Well, they are great! When I left, Ivy was sitting on the couch between Kathy and her daughter. I made a fast exit. She will be home tomorrow and more good news - - - I'll see her everytime she needs clipped.

So I drove home with a heavy heart, but Ivy will be queen of her castle. I forgot my camera today, but I'll have pictures next time.
