Lucy

Lucy's family e-mailed her update:  She's doing really well for them - slept 5 1/2 hrs last night (they must be keeping her busy in the daytime!)

Only two accidents in the house so far -- best part is -- they just love her!

Now, we've heard from everyone -- Cherry and I can do the happy dance!!

Yes, I am a morning person!

Little Zoe is getting a little TLC early this a.m. -- I guess I should have warned everyone - the pups are early risers ~~

Bogart & Family arrived safely home

Another nice e-mail received:

i Lois and Ralph, The trip home was uneventful. Bogart rode in the new plush bed Kelly bought him wrapped up in his blankey and was very content the entire way home. We stopped twice, put on his leash and he went right to the bathroom and got back in the car and went back to sleep. WHAT A ROAD TRIP DOG. He is getting accustomed to his new home. He runs around, wags his tail, grabs a mouthful of food, plays with his toys and the crashes in his new little bed. We couldn't pick up Noel until tomorrow-our kennel doesn't have Saturday evening pick up hours. So we will get her tomorrow at 8am and Noel and Bogart will start their life together. He is an absolute sweetheart. I am sure after placing puppies for the last two days you are exhausted. I hope the remainder of the weekend will bring you some restful time. I have friended you on facebook and I will keep in touch-many photos and stories to follow. Take Care, Virginia and Bill

Nice note from Bruce and his family

From Bruce's family:  He's a very good boy, it was a big day for him, he is sleeping soundly at John's feet right now. We feel so blessed to have him here with us. Thank you and Ralph and Cherry for doing such a great job:D

Dear Bruce -- you look exhausted!  Rest up - you've got a great family -- we were blessed to have you for 8 weeks -- Love, Lois

Today WOW!!

This was a very big day for us!

The last four puppies left us to start the next chapter in their lives, and we got to meet some extraordinary people.

Before they left us, the pups had a chance to race, play and act crazy together for one last time.  Now, it's up to their families to race, play and act crazy with them!  Lol!!!

Bogart should be relaxing in his home in New York by now -- I'm sure we'll hear from them.

Ralph and I drove Bruce, Zoe and Molly down to a meeting spot near Pittsburgh to meet their families -- all of the Good-bye photos are on the website (Nursery page).  It was fun to meet everyone - and I think the families enjoyed meeting each other.

Someone had the great idea of becoming friends on Facebook.  If you would like to do that and share pictures -- just "friend me"  Lois Lelii -- I think it would be fun.  We've already got Cosmos, Zoe, and Molly's family --

For now, I'm going to sit on the couch and call it a day -- but a good day!  Thanks to you all -- Lois

Cherry telling her boy to be good

Cosmos is on his way home -- Cherry was determined to get in the picture with him.  She's such a good mama.

Our babies have grown up :))

Lucy is the first one to leave -- the Good-Bye pictures are on the Nursery tab of the website -- we'll update them as the puppies leave with their families -- she'll be close enough to us to come back and visit!  She has a "stay at home" mom ready to spoil her -- already have big plans to attend puppy school.

Puppy Update

Well, we loaded up six puppies today and drove to our vet's.  My dear friend, Kathy (a.k.a. Aunt Kathy) went with us.

The visit went very well -- Needless to say, to everyone -- your pups are a hit!

Their mini physical consists of:

  •  checking for heart murmurs - none
  • checking their bites - perfect
  • checking their eyes -- no problems
  • stool samples -all clear of parasites and no presence of giardia
  • checking their ears - no sign of yeast, ear mites, or infection
  • The boys were also checked to make sure they two testicles ready to drop (WTG - boys)
They all received their first set of shots and will be receiving their first Heatworm pill tomorrow or Saturday -- we don't want to overtax their little systems with too many chemicals at once.

They did check their weights, and I apologize that I didn't get them all written down.  Bruce was the largest (7 lbs) and our little man, Bogart was the smallest at 5 1/2 lbs.

For Saturday -- we plan on being at Sheetz with Zoe, Bruce and Molly by 2:00

Address:

Sheetz
5300 William Flynn Highway
Gibsonia, PA  15044

My cell is 724 674 0933 --   Any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me.

Date(s) to Remember

The puppies have their vet appointment for their first set of shots on November 29th -- That is also the day they turn 8 weeks old.

I want them to stay with me at least until the next day - just in case someone has a reaction.  This absolutely should not happen.  Years ago everyone gave puppy shots at 6 weeks of age.  Now, the protocol (atleast mine and my vet) is to wait as close to 8 weeks of age as possible.  This gives their little bodies a chance to mature more.  I was watching Animal Planet on t.v. last week and was horrified to hear of pups getting their shots at 4 weeks - cannot imagine it.

This means I can let pups go on November 30th (Friday) if that fits your schedule better.  It would have to be after 1:00 p.m. (I only have 1/2 vacation day left for the year).

I am willing to drive and meet anyone who needs me to with their puppy.  Of course, Cherry would come along too -- I am hesitant to offer this - I don't want anyone to feel I have something to hide here other than a messy house!

Additional Information:

We are currently feeding Purina Pro Chicken/Rice (available at Pet stores and Tractor Suppy -- not your grocery store) -- you can feed your pup whatever you like - I recommend a high-end puppy food.  If you are changing, I will send puppy food home with you so that you can change their diet slowly.

Puppies were wormed at (Vetinarinarians' Association Guidelines)
  • 2 weeks
  • 4 weeks
  • 6 weeks
When you have a plan -- please contact me.

I want you to remember

this photo -- when your puppy has just about put you over the edge -- remember this image -- it might make you smile!  Hope so!!

6 weeks and counting

I can't tell you how fast they are growing - maturing.  Mother nature is so amazing.  Six weeks ago I was checking to make sure everyone nursing - making sure Cherry didn't lie down on one them.  Tonight I just watched them eat their supper (dry puppy food) on their own, get a big drink of water and crash down for a big nap -- All of that happened in six short weeks.

We've been able to get them outside for a short period each day this week.  They're exploring more and more.  And, yes - they can run -- not always in a straight line, but they make me hustle!

Pictures will be posted on Saturday --

Our 1st Picnic

We took lots of picutres, but this is the only one I can get to load on the Blog!  Very frustrating -- it was a beautiful day here - pups ate on the driveway -- Sorry I can't show you more!   I'll try later

5 Weeks old today

Sorry no pictures tonight - the pups have had a busy week.  They've been out of their crate every night - I guess you could call them field trips - they love the living room - lots of places to investigate.  The mud room isn't as much fun - but still a new experience.

Mother Nature is promsing warmer weather this weekend, and they'll be headed outside.  Then that field trip will become their favorite!  So much to learn, and so little time left with us.  I can't believe they are 5 weeks old already!

Bogart meets his new family

Bogart's new mom wanted to celebrate her birthday with him, and she did!   They drove from NY to accomplish that.  We had a wonderful visit - I think they had fun too.  One month and this precious boy will be going home with them forever - good day had by all :))

Our new location

Yes, we have moved to the big 3' x 3' crate in the living room -- lots of room for us to play, eat and be safe.  We watch everything!  We are a little tired of all the political commercials - our favorite show is Jeopardy!  We're absorbing all of new surroundings - of course, we love it when someone picks us up for a little "one on one" time -- Make sure you check the new pictures this weekend - we have something big planned!

Surprise - it's my birthday!

When little Nick arrived, last year -- that's what we said - "Surprise"!  We had no idea that his mother, Biridie was pregnant.  Mercedes had just had her pups a few days earlier -- Then, Birdie shocked us with this beautiful boy -- We wish you a wonderful day with your family -- Love You!

Visitors Welcome!

Well - Cosmos' new mama came to visit tonight - we have been a little reluctant to have visitors for this litter as it Cherry's first time as being the mama.  Cherry did fine - she was more interested in having attention than being worried about her puppies.

Cosmos and his mom had a great visit -- he showed her that he really knows how to eat his cereal - and -- he knows how to bark!  Hope that wasn't a bad impression-- LOL!!!

If anyone in the area wants to visit, we'd be glad to have you.  Just give us a call or e-mail -- Evenings after 5:30 or anytime on weekends is fine!  We want to share them with you . . .             Lois

P.S. they have moved to a bigger crate located in our living room since we had a couple of espacappee's in the smaller box in my bedroom --                   Lois

Happy Birthday Mercedes/Llinger kids - 1 year old

This is my Mercedes last litter - she is enjoying retirement now - of course, she's trying to get in with Cherry's pups every day!

From left to right - starting with Santa - we have Clark, Lexie, Candy and Bella.  I have some more pictures of them to share, but this computer is driving me nuts!  I'll try to post more tomorrow.

I love you all -- Hugs and Kisses from Ralph, Lois and Mercedes!

Our first meal without Mom!

Bruce

Zoe

Cosmos

Lucy

Bogart

Molly

Okay - finally got all six pictures loaded!  I hate our computer today!

This is their first meal - Gerber's Rice Cereal with warm milk -
  • Bruce - it took him a few tries before he realized that he could eat - then did great.
  • Zoe - she is definately a chow hound - that girl knows how to eat!
  • Cosmos - really liked it but licked around the sides - guess he didn't want to get his face dirty!
  • Lucy - she used the same approach as Cosmos - eat around the sides.
  • Bogart - he loved eating it off my fingers - but wasn't too thrilled about eating out of the bowl - he'd rather walk in it -- He's a mama's boy!
  • Molly - another chow hound ~ she needed a wet paper towel she was done.

Isn't it amazing?  They are 16 days old and have changed so much -- We'll feed them the cereal/milk once or twice a day to help supplement what Cherry is nursing them.  It was a fun day :))

What do puppies do on Saturday afternoon?

Why, of course, they nap!  Molly is to the left, and Cosmos is on his backing using his sister as a pillow -- they've had a big day.  Check back later - and - hopefully (if our Internet stays on long enough) you'll see what they have been doing!

Friday, October 19, 2012

I can see you . . . Two week pictures are posted!

Bogart and all of the pups want to wish their families a wonderful Sweetest Day!  Hugs and Kisses to Everyone!

Look who found her home!

Aretha has found her home & her new name!

Her new call name is Molly --Molly Lady Cerise  -- we have learned that Cerise means Cherry in French -- the white dog in the picture is her new big sister, Sasha.  The redish dog is part of the family too -- Excited for everyone (P.S. - she has her own song "Molly Malone"!

They're one week old already!

We're planning on taking the official "one week" old pictures tomorrow night and will post them on Saturday.  I'm sorry to disappoint anyone thinking they would be ready today.  It's just too much to try get the photos taken and posted on a week night.  I get home about five - finish up supper - (you know the drill) - my dishes await me as I type.

Our computer says it is 6:20 p.m. right now - that means all the pups are officially one week old.  I don't think I shared their birth times but will remedy that now:

Chuck Berry (Bruce) 1:50 p.m.
Marvin Gaye (Cosmos) 2:15 p.m.
Patti Labelle (Zoe) 2:46 p.m.
Diana Ross (Lucy) 3:00 p.m.

then a long break . . .

Aretha Franklin 6:00 p.m.
Little Richard (Bogart) 6:02

No, that's not a typo for Little Richard; he was right behind his sister.  We were cleaning Aretha up, and Bogart had arrived!

1st Come Love - then comes marriage --

This handsome couple belongs to a friend of a friend- of a friend.  That bride's little face is just perfect.  I bet whoever it taking the picture has someone standing beside them holding a "very good treat" to get that attention --

Of course, our little Cherry skipped the wedding and went for the baby carriage!  Pups are snug in their box this morning - they are getting so chubby - a week ago I was still trying to guess who many she was going to have - Actually, I guessed correctly.
