A Big Thank You to Our Puppy families

Many times I feel that prospective puppy families are afraid of buying a puppy from the Internet.  I understand and agree with their concern.  We've all heard horror stories of going to pick up your puppy and finding out there is a sick puppy waiting or no puppy (or breeder) at all.  Scams are everywhere.

I sent out an e-mail to some of our more recent puppy families asking that they sign the Guestbook on our website.  I thought this would soothe some of the fears of the unknown of the Internet for anyone looking for a puppy. Many responded by signing the book, e-mailing us offering to be references and even calling - just to chat.

I want to thank you all ~~ Cocker families are the best!

Few more pictures from today

Cotton Candy is giving kisses or biting his brother's nose!
Couple more - thought you might enjoy -- they certainly enjoyed their excursion!

Beautiful Cheyenne

We had a nice e-mail from one of Ivy's puppies, Cheyenne.  She's a lucky girl  to live with her wonderful family.   We received all "good reports" for her.

Great day to be outside!

Gyro (new name is Maxwell) in front and Popcorn is in the back
They got their collars today - easier to tell who is who!  Snow Cone has electric green - Cotton Candy has forst green - Gyro (Maxwell) has aqua and Poporn has purple . . . hope it helps!
Cotton Candy is in hot pursuit of Snow Cone!
Snow Cone trying to hide his toy in the garage - he wants the toy all for himself!
Snow Cone is so proud - he got away from his brother and still has the boy in his mouth -- simple pleasures!
 The food is gone . . .
Picnic is over . . .

Have you seen my new grandpups?

Well, if you haven't visit them on Sunset Oaks Cocker's Nursery Page!

They are cuter than me -- Is that possible?

Time for quick kiss on the first day of school!

This is Joker and his best buddy, Brandon.  It's Brandon's first day of school.  What's could be better than a boy and his dog!  If anyone thinks cockers aren't good with kids, think again.  Joker is Mercedes very first puppy.  We'll never forget him.

The Boy's first picnic

The boys had their first picnic today.  They're on the cement directly in front of our garage door.  They're a little bit too young to want to explore, but I think they enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine.  All 4 of them are in this picture, but it's hard to see Cotton Candy.

The picnic is over and time to come back inside.Cotton Candy is in this dish (pie pan) and Gyro is to his right.  Usually, Gyro sits in the middle of the dish when he's done.  I guess it was Cotton Candy's turn tonight.  They are back in their box now - sleeping soundly.

Tonight's Pirates Game

If you're headed to the game tonight in Pittsburgh, my church's choir will be singing the National anthem.

We didn't make it to any games this year, and I would have loved to gone down tonight.  Puppies and Ralph's health are keeping us close to home.  I hope they show it on t.v.  I'll be watching 7:05 p.m.

Let's go Bucs!

Update on the Home Front

Today was a "catch up" day after our busy week running to the hospital.  Ralph is feeling much better - but tired.  We've settled back into our routine, and the dogs are content once again.

Mercedes is always my shadow and follows me everywhere. While Ralph was gone, I had 4 dogs following me from room to room.  I almost let them talk to him on the phone -- lol!  Just imagine 8 sad eyes watching your every move.

We plan on tomorrow being picture day - I think you'll be surprised!  They have changed so much this week.

Thank you for your prayers and concerns

Ralph arrived back home this afternoon.  As some of you know, it was a scary week for us.

When I got up Tues a.m., I thought it was a regular Tuesday and I was going to work.  With Ralph's health issues that is always subject to change.  We made a fast trip to our local hospital emergency room and was sent from there by ambulance to a Pittsburgh hospital --

Thanks to everyone at Allegheny General Hospital . . .  He's home safe and sound.

Of course all of the dogs were nuts to see him - he barely made it in the house.  They certainly missed him!

The puppies are growing by leaps and bounds - Ralph couldn't get over the difference in three days . . . and I did have to transfer them to the bigger puppy box while he was gone.  They had managaed to jump out of the shallow whelping box - always an adventure!

Love, Lois

Having a puppy picnic - Day #2

This is the 2nd day we have been introducing the pups to Rice cereal and baby food.  Yesterday went well, but I thought I'd fill you in on today's meal.  The picture above is Snow Cone - he has it under control!  If the food is gone, he just makes his way around the box and cleans his brother's faces!  I guess he doesn't feel a napkin is necessary - the picture was from yesterday.

Cotton Candy is much more of a gentleman.  He likes to eat the food from you finger but doesn't want to dive in.  Tomorrow may be a different story!

Little Gyro put his face in the bowl and ate until it was gone - that boy knows how to picnic!

Last, but not least is Popcorn - he was just to sleepy to eat much.  Loved what he ate but would rather nap.

They're all full and resting now -- I'm headed out to the deck to watch Ralph cook on the grill.  I might need a napkin!  LoL

Callie's Birthday!

Here is our Callie on her first birthday!  She's in her party mode with her cousins!  What is a party without party hats?
Notice - the hats didn't stay on for long -- they must not know how darling they look with those hats!

And here is our beautiful birthday girl!  I can see why this is a favorite picture -- there's a lot of soul in those eyes - - -  different colors, but she looks very much like her mama, My Mercedes - my dream girl . . .

Wish you lived closer, sweet girl!  You could meet your new brothers!

Everyone take a corner!

Here's our boys!  Two weeks old already . . .  Everyone is growing and is healthy.  Mercedes has started taking breaks from being in the box all of the time.  We're planning on taking pictures later today.

Murray has a secret - don't tell

Remember Murray from last year's litter?  Well, he got a big secret!
He's getting a baby brother!  We don't know his name yet -- At the moment it's our little "Gyro",  but his new family is working on the perfect name for him!
